Wisely, they may not pick up the WC. After all, they still have their own local sponsors to think about.

So far, the CW SUX. They really need a MAJOR overhaul if they're gonna survive. And their recent decisions have led me to believe they're not gonna make it. They dropped one of their highest-rated shows, "Everwood", and kept many lower-rated shows. NOT SMART!
They tried a "Fugitive"-type show, "Runaway", knowing full well that this genre is burned out for the time being. As was expected, it tanked.
To me, their best show now is "Veronica Mars", but it's been quite ratings-challenged until this week when it perked up a little. "Pepper Dennis" was a good premise, but inferior writing, so far a trademark of the old WB & UPN in general, sent it to Davy Neilsen's locker. And their last reality offerings, "Top Model" aside, were pure garbage. I must question the intelligence of the execs who allowed such bee ess on the air at all. And the personality, charm, and intelligence of Tyra Banks is the ONLY thing keeping "Model" alive.
So far, everything about the CW seems second-rate. They have the resources to do much-better. I believe a change in leadership would be a move in the right direction, as the current leadership hasn't made too many wise choices in programming or writers.
