Has surface been cancelled? I haven't seen it on the NBC fall lineup and I haven't seen anywhere here on this site or on NBC that it's been officially Cancelled. I'm hoping not because its one of the few new shows that I really got into.

Yeah I know, kind of a crappy line up imho. But since there hasn't been an official NBC announcement that Surface is history, I'm still clinging to the chance (however remote) that if one of the new shows tanks, that they might bring it back either mid fall season or perhaps winter/spring lineup. But, I know it's probably just wishful thinking.

Getting pretty tire of shows for stupid people. Why in the world do special ed programs do so well, while ones that actually make you think get cancelled. Take the neilson boxes away from the retards.

It's the same reason that the Washington Post and New York Times are written at a 10 year old level... Kind of sad. Take 'reality' TV for a good example. It just doesn't get dumber than that. Speaking of 'Tards - www.roadtards.com - Have fun!

According to an interview with Josh and Jonas Pate(the writers of Surface) in the Winston-Salem Journal www.journalnow.com/servlet/Satellite?pagename=WSJ%2FMGArticle%2FWSJ_RelishArticle&c=MGArticle&cid=1149190170674&path= the Pates are hoping that Surface will have future seasons and that is the reason they are not divulging their planned ending of the show to fans. As stated in the article, Sci-Fi has stated that they don’t have the funds for a new show like Surface. Encouraged by the optimism of the Pate brothers, Surface fans worldwide are planning to participate in the Great Tsunami Campaign where we will send at least two emails a day and postcards with ocean/Surface themes to Kevin Reilly, President of NBC each day from September 15, 2006-September 22, 2006. Please voice your opinion and tell Mr.Reilly that there are MANY Surface fans who want another season of Surface. Also, if you haven’t already signed the online petition requesting a second season of Surface, visit www.savesurface.com and add your name and thoughts to the petition, meet other Surface fans, or talk about Surface, kevin.reilly@nbcuni.com NBC Kevin Reilly NBC 3000 W.Almeda Room A-209 Burbank, Ca 91523

It's a good thing you care so much to do that but beleive me it's too late. The cast have signed on to other projects and the sets are probably dismantled. Not to mention that ratings were pretty bad.

The ratings were bad because it was not promoted well at all. I did not know about it until I streamed it on Netflix in 2011. It's odd, it's 6 years later or so, and I'm just feeling the same disappointment that you all felt back then. I might be wrong, but is NBC the worst at canceling shows that have an actual fanbase?
